Shaw Floors Laminate Flooring Review from Wichita, Kansas
Bob flooring brand new from Jabara had to have certain installers install it cuz can't install it yourself now we're on the fifth year and the stuff looks horrible it's swollen up we did the cleaning procedure in the manual use that are 2X and it got humid here outside 80% this spring and that's all I can think of but the woods swollen up this stuff is not very good and the warranty does not hold up she does not have integrity this company is a disgrace to America they need to be sued a class action lawsuit for this Shaw laminate flooring I've read how difficult it is to get them to do any warranty work 9 times Outta 10 they deny your claim they need to be sued for their false advertising of a 15 year warranty
My Shaw floor with a lifetime guarantee was worthless within days of installation.
Bought floor from N. August carpet and floors. Floor was bubbling in a week, and chipping. Also couldn't install myself, which I was told I could since I have put down many laminated floors. No one can. Call the store the lady came out, said water damage. How do I have water damage with no water, one door to enter and it's under a porch?
Told me to give it a couple of weeks. Then they are out of business.
Who will fix my floor? Also can't help but notice that there are no longer commercials for shaw flooring. I. WANT I FLOOR LIKE THAT,
What do I do to place a claim?
- Store looked good

Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm very unhappy with a product I had installed 7 months ago (HL255-High Country II, color #00839-Kings Canyon Cherry) that is warranted for 10 plus years. It has failed in 7 months and Shaw is refusing to uphold their warranty. The board are bubbling up in many places... Why have a warranty if it is not going to be upheld?
Before installing, my installers called Shaw directly to ask questions about the installation and they followed the instructions. Unfortunately, I did not have my installers write down the time, date and person they talked to at Shaw... so now I'm stuck dealing with this mess. Uggg.
We called Shaw directly and they required we go through our dealer to file a warranty issue claim. Luckily we bought from a dealer and not Home Depot or Lowes. So after calling our dealer, Shaw takes over a week and then they send out an independent wood inspector. He inspects the house and asks us about what temperature we keep the house and what we clean the floors with. Really?? We keep the house at 72 degrees and clean the floor with a mix of water and vinegar... normal mopping procedure for wood floors.
After all of that, we get this letter:
This letter is acknowledgment of a complaint registered against invoice #630****, dated 10/03/2014 style #HL255-High Country II, color #00839-Kings Canyon Cherry. The claim states concerns are raised/buckled boards. The material was independently inspected on 05/07/2015. The inspection report indicates the issues are installation related.

Problem with VersaLock Shaw Industries
I purchased Shaw VersaLock laminate flooring on 12/27/11 (Shaw Industries) and installed in the middle of January 2012. At first I loved the flooring; the look of it, the ease of cleaning, etc. Until....my 9 year old boxer got ill. About 3 weeks ago, while at work, she peed on the floor (first time in years). Imagine my surprise when the flooring started warping and de-laminating. I contacted Menards where I purchased the flooring and they gave me a box of flooring to replace the pieces. Thank you Menards for stepping up to care for your customers.
My dog is on now started a new medication. On Sunday, March 18th at 2:30 am, I woke up to let the dogs out. Sometime after that, she vomited on the flooring. I cleaned it up immediately upon waking up and discovering it. Again, the flooring has warped and de-laminated.
It gets worse...When I contacted Shaw directly on Monday, March 19th at 9:30 am MST, I had the displeasure of speaking with one of their "Customer Care" representatives. She didn't provide her name and by the end of the call, I was so upset that I didn't ask for her name. She stated pet urine and vomit contains acid and is not covered under the 40-year warranty. The "customer care" representative had no empathy what-so-ever and cold face told me I was out of luck. What?! I purchased this flooring because of the "outstanding" warranty and great reviews from the experts at Menards.
After reviewing the insert included with the flooring, it states "use acetone/nail polish remover on a clean white cloth to clean tough spots such as oil, paint, markers, lipstick, ink, or tar." Isn't acetone, / nail polish remover, acid?
At 9:45 am MST, I contact Alisha Wood through Shaw through their instant messaging option on the Shaw website. She provided me with a copy of the 40-year warranty. No where within the warranty does it state anything about pets.
Only having this flooring installed for less than 2 months, I am really concerned with the longevity of this flooring. I would not recommend this flooring for anyone with kids, pets, or a life in general....their warranty doesn't appear to really cover anything. Below is a list of items not covered which is basically anything that could possibly happen. I have again contacted Menards. They seem to be more empathetic and willing to stand behind the product they sell then their manufacturers. I should hear back from Menards tomorrow. Again, thanks Menards and shame on you Shaw....consumer be aware.

My floor was bought an installed by their authorized dealer. This was installed in a 600 sq ft guest house, water is located on only one wall, about 3 ft apart.
Although the damage is not in this area at all, the dealer insisted it was water damage.
They are now out of business, and we're out of luck. My floor lasted only a few weeks.
